I was attacked and hit, twice, riding along Lake Forsyth, a couple of months ago now tho. Most I've seen lately haven't seemed all that interested

Does anybody know around about what time they calm down and stop attacking? I assume it would be timed to do with when their babies are grown a bit but not sure. I was out for a ride on the weekend and was going up Holmes Rd just off old Tai Tapu rd and saw 5 of the buggers up ahead. Rather than risk it I turned around.

I haven't been harassed for a few weeks. if you see 5 you are probably safe. the flocking ones, flockers, hurhur, dont attack.

Nah you don't need to worry anymore. They usually stop attacking late Oct/ early Nov depending on the bird. Tested out the one in the macrocarpa's up the top of Mt Pleasant over a week ago and no probs.

I filmed some magpie attacks on Michaels Road in Tai Tapu and the SH heading towards Motukarara a few weeks ago. These particular birds appear to have eased up now.

I got strafed half a dozen times by attack Plovers at the top of the Crocodile/Kennedy's Bush Rd yesterday, they don't seem game to make contact but I hate the sound they make.

good boy!!!!!
I'd be interested to know how he went - apparently they are clever and you get one chance only.
I guess we find out next year (although i rarely ride that road at any time of year)

It's that time again - got swooped three times last weekend, Maronan Road near Tinwald, Michaels Road Tai Tapu and then going up the Gebbies Valley. All just swooping, no contact made.
But yesterday the Gebbies one had a real good go - slammed my helmet twice. He's just past the Café (whatever it's called now, aka Black Tulip and Blue Duck). He's a nasty beggar!
