OK, some of these I can understand but the Mazda Lantis at number 5 - are they mad? I mean we have a Mazda 323 and it's a nice, reliable, economical, utterly dull car, I always assumed that the Lantis was just lipstick on a pig. Or am I missing something?

There is a scary quick 6cylinder version of the lantis, that goes very well (for looking like something someones sister would drive) which probably explains why they are high on the list, also the parts / engines for them, fit alot of fords / mazda's and are stupid expensive to buy from wreckers

I've got a non-turbo 2L Legacy and I don't pay extra for it. I'm with AMI tho so maybe they have different lists of what's dodgy and what's not.

I'm pretty sure when that coupe shaped Lantis (was there a NZ name ?) came out they had Jona Lomu featured in some of the print advertising - maybe that's still got cache ? But more likely it's the sweet little V6 under the bonnet.

And why no mitsi evo's on that list ?? That's strange

ps - I had to wrangle with Tower when insuring my 2 litre diesel turbo !! - that turbo word sure gets em going. Sorted now but had to talk to someone high up to get them to see the error of their ways

Heaps will get stolen but the owners wont admit to owning them

Really I had no trouble insuring a 2lt turbo diesel.
