 But he's so small!

His speed is disproportionate to his size. He's like radio controlled aeroplane, except he's on a bike.

That photo of Sharratt is fucking awesome.

And the last World Cup supporting event on the Canberra racing programme was the XCC (short track XC) which took place on the Sunday lunchtime during DH racing. Some pretty fast World Cup athletes took it on, with Spain's Jose Antonio Hermida Ramos taking the win and the $4000 cheque.
NZ's Brendon Sharratt and Andrew Bott took on the very wet 20 minutes plus 3 laps mens race, with Sharratt completing a personally very successful weekend of MTB racing with a 9th, just behind top Aussies Chris Jongeward and Lachlan Norris. Bott slotted in to 13th place.

He had abit of an off on his rock and cut up his leg abit. Rode the rest of the way round the course, then went to registration.

He waited til he got to first aid to faint. :D

Yeh it was! Thats where i was watching :-)

there was a B line around it but it was much longer....

A lot of the DH fans came over to watch the races, all out for some lycra blood! But most of them rode it perfectly even after the sick climb right before it!

Yep, it is. This album has some photos of the XCO race, with a lot of photos of the HammerHead section of the course. It was a hugely popular spot for spectators, with a couple of thousand up there for the Saturday races.
