So what say ye?

I've tried Maxis Crossmark (good on rear as long as it doesn't get too wet)
Maxis Ignitor (undecided - got an ambulance ride out of Redwoods at Vegas #2, but 70% rider/30% tyres...)
Michelin XC (big mistake on front, could work on rear - too heavy for you though)
WTB Prowler SL (high hopes, but haven't been too impressed yet)

For all round ability, none of these come anywhere near the Continental Mountain Kings that came on the bike! I'm going back to them.

I'm sold on the Geax Sagguaro's.
I tried the folding "High performance" instead of the TNT tubeless tyres, they were harder to seat, but that was the only downside.
and fractionally lighter than the tubeless TNT tyres too.

I wouldn't let one person's experience let you form an opinion. Every Singular that I have seen has been flawless. I can post some mega up close saucy weld shots if you guys want. I love mine...

Yeah, I don't think he's going to change his mind on the strength of one opinion but it would also be stupid to totally ignore someone of YANKEEHOTELFOXTROT's experience...

Anyone have good things to say about sun equalizer 29er rims? I'm bypassing stans cause I may occasionally want to run High pressure. I had pretty much decided on mavic tn719's, but I have just stumbled upon the equalizers. They seem fairly light and cheapish too. Thoughts?

So Im thinking of getting a 29er HT for sport XC racing, trail riding and general MTB shenanigans. Should I get a carbon frame for pure weight weeniness, or a light alloy frame for durability? (I think the difference is about 1.5 pounds)

What are your though 29er guru's?

Get the carbon frame for the durability! And the comfort, stiffness, ride quality, you pocket will be lighter too so you go faster! The Niner carbon frameis here in a month or so.

How much you are wanting to spend will partially decide that.

I'd have no issues with a crabon frame in regards to durability. The new Niner looks super hot and there geo is well sorted. Otherwise the carbon stumpy and GF also look amazing.

If I had the $$ I'd consider a santa cruz tallboy fully too. I'm so hot for them right now.
