There was a Giant 29er frame picture floating around with carbon stays, sliding dropouts etc, hopefully that XTC 29 1 is just the el budgo model and they bring out that other frame with better spec :(
Probably a bit of weight in the crap wheels and derore cranks, but cheap as one would hope.

Clicky

Prolly still a couple of months until we see them... in the meantime 29ers are getting thin on the ground supply wise :o

The good news is that Blingpusher has just landed 9 or so Singular Swifts, some of which are up for grabs. I know a few are already spoken for.

Checker it out. http://www.flickr.com/photos/singularcy ... 998408439/

Out of interest, what is a frame/fork worth?

29er frames aren't hard to come by at all, but being the time of year it is a lot of 09 bikes are sold out and the 2010 stuff is still a while off yet.

Most online stores (Speshly in teh USA) carry a vast amount of 29er gear now

But of course because of the dollar, paying duty, freight, etc... it often works out better to buy locally.

Was deciding between a Haro Ally SS and a Peace 9r SS both '09. I went for the Peace as steel seemed safer, wasn't too keen on an all alloy rigid mountain bike. Standard thus far except for replacing parts that I've broken and the Thompson seatpost which was a birthday gift. Use it for thrashing round various Wellington haunts, rad bike and great fun in the mud.

tried to order some bits from these guys last month but they cancelled the order saying they weren't set up for international orders, even though their FAQ page says they welcome international orders and have a special mention for aussie orders ... go figure!

SLG's new haro mary SS turned up last night - complete with what I presume is the new style 2010 forks (now a welded on-one style affair like the beasley, not the old ugly unicrown ala project2). Will post pics when it's fully fettled (job #1 was to take the On-One mary bars and throw them in the bin)

that pic came as quite the bombshell to the local scott dealer ( after he had also assured me there was no plans for scott to build a wagon wheeler )

Oooh nice. :0 The new frame with the bent top tube should be much nicer than my standard frame. And the forks...

Please extract said Mary bars from aforementioned bin and put them in a courier bag and send them to me. :D Please? :eh: I will reimburse the courier costs. Me likey the Mary bars.

this one appears to be a hybrid - new model forks, but the 09 frame (presumably one of those 'oops we're short of forks' things). So still a straight top tube - which is fine cos I'm not a big fan of the bent top tube on the beasley (yes, I know, people with short legs etc etc)

Whats with all the 29ers of late having super short Head tubes?
In thinking about it I'm guessing its so the front ends not super high.
