I'll do someresearch into the times,

i noticed some m424's for sale, any one use them?

I'd like somthing I can use a normal shoe on some times too. maybe add some pd22 to the 520's would be better.

any platform pedal is pretty crap to pedal in normal shoes as there is always a lump where you clip in. Having said that, if you are just trundling down the shops then the clip in flat pedals are ok with normal shoes for short distance.

A pair of 785's or 530's like these should suit you fine http://www.trademe.co.nz/sports/cycling ... 416992.htm

As long as you have proper mtb shoes they should feel solid enough.

I've ridden once on the clipons that came with my M520's, they don't really add much as they're only as wide as the pedals anyway, I'd rather just ride on the pedals as they are. And they're an arse to get on and off the pedals.

My other bike that I use for riding around when I go camping and stuff has M424's on it, I've got them pretty muddy and not had any trouble clipping/unclipping, if anything the problem is the bottom of my shoes clogging up around the cleats.

I'm surprised no one has linked to "that" thread yet. :paranoid:
