Aluminium tape on the back of the bulb does a good job of reducing the heat out the back.

I've always found that alluminium paint (pretty much all silver paints) do a nice job of pushing the light and heat out the front, where you want it, not out the back like the bulbs were designed to do...

No its not, moved main unit to helmet. Also replaced 4 optics to 15 degrees (now 2*25 and 4*15). Works great, I'm driving them only at 0.5 amps so no cooling really necessary. Made little video with new setup (you can learn some Finnish language as well :p ).

Do you find them glarey or is it just the camera picking up reflection from the leaves etc...

Looks like a good amount of light, though alittle hard to tell in a video.

Wheres the best place to get Li-Ion battery packs? Have already checked out batteryspace.com and they want huge sums of money for shipping.

Looking for 14.8V 4400mah.

Anywhere I can source these in NZ?

Could I make my own?

You could make your own, but since you asked if you can I wouldn't.

Batteryspace has another web site which for some reason has cheaper shipping. Cant remember the name of the place sorry

Started a new housing tonight. Making one it out of an old front hub (idea from someone else).

I'll try to get some photos as I go along.

Been running my latest for a few weeks.
5 leds ~ 800lm off the dynamo. The one on the left is a single oval optic that has a supercapacitor on it so it stays lit for a few minutes when I stop.
