The Intense / Yeti fan-boi mate
How did the ride go, is it fast enough to hold off the Intense?

It takes 40 days and nights to get anywhere?
Its faster than a donkey?
It climbs hills like you're carrying a cross?

it takes 400years to get the story out, by which time the participants are long dead and no one knows what actually happened, so things get exaggerated?

Big thanks to Mike & Rob at Bike Culture in Vegas; without them I would have been waiting weeks more to get this together.
& to a few others who helped me get everything into one spot at the right time

Thought I'd jump into this thread with my own SC shadizzle... :)

After owning a 2002 era Bullit with 5th Element shock, back in the day (which I had to sell around '05), I've just acquired myself a VP-Free which I'm in the process of building up. I'll post a pic once it's done (hopefully by the end of this coming week).

I'm stuck with my 150mm forks for now (unless someone has some Totems or Boxxers going cheap?) but otherwise it's set up pretty sweet, as far as I'm concerned... heavy, but relatively indestructible:

SC VP-Free (large in orange)
Fox DHX5 shock with titanium spring
Manitou Travis TPC+ 150mm forks
DMR Revolver hubs laced to DMR Backline 36hole rims
Maxxis Highroller 2.5 & 2.35 tyres
FSA The Pig headset
Shimano XT disc brakes (203mm rotors)
Shimano XT Shadow derailleur
Shimano Deore 9spd shifter
Shimano Deore Hollowtech II cranks and BB
miscellaneous brand chainguide over 38tooth ring
Spoon 40mm stem
RaceFace Atlas bars
ODI Ruffian lock-on grips
RaceFace Evolve XC seatpost
SDG Satellite saddle

I'm pretty excited about it, and can't wait to get down to 'vegas for some shuttles to see how it rolls!

Mint. I've had two VP-frees, and they were both great. An excellent (if a wee heavy) totally extreme trail bike :)

It's certainly heavy. With the wheels and tires I've got, I'd say it'll be the heaviest bike I've owned (and I had Shivers on the Bullit).

I'm going for solid and relatively indestructible, so it'll last me ages, and the VP-Free should provide a fair bit of fun at the same time. :) So stoked
