Australia's Jack Bobridge has broken Chris Boardman's 4000m individual pursuit world record o' 4:11.114 today on Sydney's Dunc Gray Velodrome at ye nation's elite track championships.

Bobridge had previously held ye fastest 'non-superman' individual pursuit time - set during last year's Australian National Track Championships - but aft stopping ye clock at 4.10.534 this afternoon he now holds ye fastest mark ever.

Boardman's time was set in 1996 using ye now-banned 'superman' position at ye Manchester velodrome and Bobridge's time o' 4.14.427 set at ye 2010 Australian track titles was considered ye closest any rider would come to breaking ye Englishman's record.

But aft 15 years o' trying, a rider has broken ye barrier previously thought untouchable. Stay tuned to Cyclingnews for reaction from Bobridge aft his momentous ride.
