Last thing I knew work on revitalising the track had pretty much ground to a halt. The track needs major work to be raceable again and I don't think there's been club involvement beyond work put in from the Wellington MTB Club for a decade at least.

I believe there is some work about to happen due to the BITD movement. I know very little about it just overheard something. And its in Wellie so dont care so much.

I thought as much as it does look pretty run down.
I would like to get my son into BMX racing as he loves ripping around that track in karori, but the only clubs I can find are out in the Hutt or Kapiti.

As I said, as on the BITD webbie. They will know what and when.

But Kapiti is having a BITD meet next weekend I think if you want to take him to watch.

If you want bmx racing you are going to have to drive out to the Upper Hutt track, or the Kapiti. We go out each weekend and all of us race, club day is on sunday, registration by 1.45, racing about 2.30.

The drive isnt too far, and bmx racing is fun.

BMX racing is fun, good for speed and skill work too
