Vorb is proud to announce the Bike HQ Mid Winter Jam which will be held on July the 4th 2007. This competition is open to anyone with a bike and supported by Bike HQ, Spoke Magazine and Vorb.

THE EVENT
Entrants will be required to enter as teams, and go out and ride on Wednesday the 4th of July (anytime from midnight to midnight.) Teams will document their riding in real time by using the camera function on their cellphones and PXT 2 Vorb to send photos of their riding straight to the Vorb server.

PRIZES
The team that is the most popular with the Vorb users will win a KHS DJ200 mountain bike supplied by Bike HQ. One team will be selected by a panel of judges to feature in a photoshoot with Spoke Magazine. Spot prizes and runner up prizes will be supplied by Bike HQ and Spoke Magazine. It is the responsibility of the winning teams to split their prizes amongst their members.

IDEAS FOR YOUR JAM

VOTING AND JUDGING
Registered Vorb users will be able to vote for their favourite teams from 5th-31st July. Any attempts to rig the voting will be detected and dealt with. What is the minimum required for a team and will each team get its own PXT Gallery to tell its story or how would that work? (Would be difficult making sense of things if there was only one gallery with lots of random photos from many people posted)

Each team will get their own gallery and a thread. You could try to do it solo but having attempted to use a cameraphone to do self-portraits while riding I can confirm that it's more frustrating than sewing your own gloves.

That depends on your phone company and what plan you have. I think it costs most people on Vodafone or Telecom 50 cents per PXT. You could check on their websites: www.telecom.co.nz / www.vodafone.co.nz
