Being a boat anchor doesn't bother me, I'm nearly as fat as Big Jimmy's avatar these days

31.8 preferred, but what are you thinking / have you got?

I've got a spare D2 stem lying around. 1.5" steerer size though.

1.5" isn't any use for this job

Yeah I'm running that sunline stem at the moment. Looks good, and nice low stack.

The Flea lights are gimmicky and should work better for the price.

Best rear light IMO is the Smartlight Superflash. RRP between $30 and $45 depending on which supplier they came from. The ones with the white casing are expensive, the black casing is cheaper - apart from the colour of the casing they're the same light.

the "stack height" is the amount of room the stem take up on the steerer, ie the height of the sterrer clamp

Where would I buy a KHS derailleur hanger these days?

khsbicycles.com still lists bikehq as its NZ distributor.

work out what other generic brands use the same hanger

failing that, get a good bike shop to order the right hanger from wheels manufacturing (cycle supplies is the agent)

Or failing that, look up derailleur hangers on CRC, they have a million different ones and are bound to have one to fit. Unfortunately you'll get reamed for shipping, may as well make up for it by buying some other cheap bling or something
