Yeah, I was going on the assumption the lowers were def bent, but other stuff may have been bent at the same time. I concur, the clams from lowers/crowns etc could add up very quickly.

Ok so went into work today and took out the forks and started to strip em down. Halfway through the job a work colleague noticed that I'd cracked the lowers and the fork arch :( ... Damn.

So now I'm left with a bunch of spares including 3 springs, 2 stanchions, an axel, the dapening and rebound cartridges and no bike to ride!

Price of a new casting is still cheap compared to new forks, get a quote on some new lowers

He is talking about $300 - $400 2nd hand forks. Do you reckon new Fox 40 lowers would be less than that, assuming nothing else is required?

New lower casting & seals when I replaced some lowers on a fox float fork were retail of $375, 40 lowers I can't imagine would be too much more expensive.

Ok, I'm after another odd-ball part....

I've got a Hope titanium square taper BB, looks similar to this:

I'm after one of the lock rings that goes on the drive side (It's reverse threaded to the one on the left side cup)
anyone know where I might be able to get something like this?

Didn't the azonic 454/dmr cheiftan/kona buldge bb have one on the drive side? or it may have been on the non drive side :paranoid:

More latex, higher pressure after seating (50+) and make sure you do lots of spinning and wobbling.
