I dont mind sharing the road with cyclists, but if you think you can ride two out/doubled up then you are a candidate for darwin award and deserve to get hit by any loon that feels the urge. If you can't use common sense then you get what you deserve. At no point on any road are you allowed to ride doubled up, wait untill you stop or finish before talking to your spandex buddies.

P.s. real men ride dh.

Please advise where in the roadcode it says that you can not ride two abreast. I must of missed that one.

Taken from the Cyclist road code at http://www.nzta.govt.nz/resources/roadcode/index.html

Two cyclists can ride next to each other but should take into account
the keep left rule and not hold back traffic. Three or more people
cycling next to each other is illegal, except in the case of a road race
that has been given traffic management approval from a road
controlling authority

Taken from the roadcode which may or probaly not assist you when passing cyclists or other vehicles http://www.nzta.govt.nz/resources/roadc ... ssing.html

Before passing, always ask yourself 'is it really necessary to pass?' Don't pass just because you are feeling impatient with the car in front – that's often when crashes happen.

If you do decide to pass, follow the rules shown below.

Before you pass:

make sure you will be able to see at least 100 metres of clear road ahead of you once you have finished passing - if not, don't pass
look well ahead to make sure there are no vehicles coming towards you
look behind to make sure there are no vehicles passing you
signal right for at least three seconds before moving out to pass.

Hope this helps you Dakine. :)
