Shock Is Fixed!!

Postby bergwolf on Thu 21/Dec/06 7:06pm

Thank you very much for all your
very valuable tipps and the offer to lend a shock.
With some remote controlling by my Michael, the
mechanic of my Munich Bike Shop http://www.rabe-bike.de
I was able to find the leak and resolve the problem.
The leak was at the flange that holds the valve for filling the shock.

thanks again for all your great help

Pohara ...

Postby bergwolf on Thu 21/Dec/06 7:22pm

We had a lazy day today.
The frist day since our arrival in New Zealand that we are not on our bikes.
This morning I unscrewed my rear shock, checked where the leak was and with the help
from my bike shop viea email was able to fix it.
After that we went to Farewell spit and did some nice hiking in that area.
We just returned from the Puku walkway. That seems like a great MTB ride as well.
We did it by foot though.
Tomorrow with great weather we will be back on our bikes.
Pedaling up to Cobb reservoir will be our challenge.

We are still looking for s/b to share the Nydia and Queen Charlotte singletracks
on Sunday / Monday.

Still Out There ... Dundin - Nasevy - Clyde - Wanaka - Queen

Postby bergwolf on Tue 2/Jan/07 1:18pm

All right, back in an internet Cafe. We had a great week.
Over Christmas we rode Nydia Track. We stayed in the beatiful and romantic
Te Moeherangi Backpacker in Nydia Bay. A great choice for this special day.

After that we went Sea Kayaking in Able Tasman, Dophin Swimming in Kaikoura and
did the Wharfedale Track. Via Mount Cook and Oamaru we drove down to
Dunedin. We checked out the Signal Hill Bike Tracks yesterday. Came across a
completely smashed bike hlemet. Anybod know the story about that helmet.
From Dunedin on we move by bike only.
We will start the Otagocentralrailtrail on Wednesday. That night should see us in
Naseby. Thursday we would love to meet local Naseby bikers. We will camp there
and should not be hard to find. We will check at the Hotel.

After Naseby we will head to Clyde and Alexandra where we understand are some beautiful singletracks. Any recommendations geatly welcome.

Rail Trail, Naseby, Alex

Postby bergwolf on Fri 5/Jan/07 5:52pm

We spent the last two days on the rail trail and checking out Naseby's singletracks.
We are noew in Alex, where we spent the whole day on the singletracks
east of the river.
We had our share of fun.
Tomorrow Over the 4WD road into Cromwell and then on to queenstown.

What are the best techinical singletracks over in Queenstown?

Rail Trail And Queenstown ...

Postby bergwolf on Mon 8/Jan/07 5:21pm

We spentthe last two days on Queenstowns singletracks.
Mostly the ones in the Skyline area. We did the fernhill loop and others today.
met a couple DH pros in the dirtpark at the end of fernhill. they were practicing
for the weekends NZ championship runs. quite impressive.
We only played a little on the small jumps and the startes northshores.
Of to Milford know.
Next destination: Wanaka and Makarora.
Will be the last for me on this trip.
