Yes and no - I reckon you could ferment just about anything on that list....

That sounds like a challenge for all the home brewers on vorb. Here's a link to get you started.

My votes:
Apple for eating
Grape [fermented] for drinking
Pineapple for Pizza topping
Lime for garnishing beer bottles and cocktail glasses
Strawberry [Jam] for spreading on scones with lashings of clotted cream

True, but I took "Best" to mean the level of pleasure gained from sticking it in your mouth. E dogg, could quite easily have meant "Best" in terms for sticking in any other orifice. In which case, I'm shocked at how highly people have rated Pineapple

There are comparatively far fewer classically insertable fruits than vegetables. Really only bananas.

Best Insertable Fruit?

Classic? What is more classic than tinned sliced peaches? Or even more classic, the Dionysian maenads probably would have been skilled enough to peel grapes - they were dedicated party girls.

Note the more inclusive definition of fruits includes butternut pumpkin ... :satan:

Still in the tin?

I would have thought that a tinned peach would become far too mushy to insert.

You need to get your lady or gentleman suitably mushy first. Insufficient tongue work before introducing cooked fruit is as sure to fail as painting a kitchen without prepping the walls with sugar soap. They should teach this stuff in high school.

E.Dogg, is this the sort of information you were after?

I wasn't principally interested in the potential for bunghole insertion of the various fruits, but this is definitely good stuff to know. :)

Coconuts are a fruit.

So, you know, you're going to need some more lube.

It shouldn't even be the third best stone fruit, coming behind apricot, peach and any other stone fruit.

(we had a couple of nectarine trees when I was a kid that my mum used to make us eat. Even preserved them so we could enjoy them all year. Rhubarb too)

Why would it be below peach? It's just as good and isn't all fuzzy?

I like most stone fruits and berry fruits. But am partial to fresh pears and apples when in season. Nom.

When next you purchase a whole pineapple or three, save the skins etc that you would normally bin. Chuck them in a clean bucket. Cover them with water. cover bucket with damp tea towel. Place in a cool dry place for a week to ten days. Check often after a week. Suitable fermenting will have taken place. Strain liquid and sweeten to taste. Bottle and refrigerate. Don't take too long drinking them, the bottles are known to go *boom* in the fridge.

Can't tell if is a serious suggestion or not.

Really? It doesn't get super funky and gross? Wouldn't you just get rotten pineapple bacterial shitwater?
