No.
If I had the relevant parts, I'd run one on a rigid SS.

But if you're angling to make your biking easier and more pleasant, wouldn't you just, you know, put some bloody gears on it????

Are you allowed a quick release seatpost clamp then?
Because, you know, that adds weight and functionality - so that makes it a no go for a single speed?

Disclaimer- I have never owned a SS, nor do I subscribe to any set of rules around SS riding/setup.

I don't currently have a SS (9spd at the moment) but it had/has a qr seatpost and a yuuge coil fork.

It's also heavier than the average endurbro bike... These things may discount my views in the minds of the hardcore SS crew, but it's fun, and that's what mountain biking is for.

If you gotta ask, the answer yes it is bad form, because the only reason you are riding a single speed is so you look cool and you care what others think. If you are doing because you actually like riding a single speed, and think a dropper will make it better, you would just do it and not ask.

..... come to think of it, its bad form, no one rides SS because they like it.
