Well I guess you might be thinking “why bother planning to work on – let alone ride – tracks” with this somewhat torrid winter we are having. But the good news is that it – the bad weather – can’t last forever !!

So – next Saturday morning 30.August – XC track work.

Time ; 0900 thru to midday or soon after

Place ; Castle Rock track. Meet at Castle Rock end on the summit road, we will probably push through to the Bridle Path end.

Supplied ; tools, morning tea, instruction and encouragement, contact with other mtnbikers.

Bring ; sturdy footwear, gloves, water, a favourite earth shaping implement if you own one.

It will be boggy in places, and with moving rocks etc to armour the track, you can probably expect to get a bit grubby.

Weather guideline is that rain or showers means no go. Wind we can probably cope with, but at this time of year the chill factor can be considerable.

Unfortunately I can’t be at this work party (heading to Queen Charlottte track, fingers and toes crossed that it be dry-ish)

So if it looks dodgy weather wise and you are unsure about the go, might pay to ring or txt Nick on 027 494 1165.
