The weather and lack of daylight hasn't been too helpful but we are still ticking away behind the scenes on track building plans for Signal Hill.

Thanks to everyone for not riding down the grass and through the school grounds. Signs and fences are up to direct you out the correct way.

Plans are to get a digger in there and form the new lower DH section on the open field. Negotiations are underway.

There is an alternative track partly made so far in the trees which will drop onto the top field. As this is quite steep, we will make an easier route for riders of different abilities but finishing the first 2 routes is the priority for now.

It seems that there are some people who have started forming jumps etc. PLEASE WAIT as we will get the proper funding and materials to do all this properly - and also the final direction of the track may still change.

The old DH track will split into the two finish track options near the wooden step-down but these are yet to be finalised. There are a lot of natural springs and little uphill parts to work around - plus gorse to cut through, but we have worked out the general idea and will make a primo, flowy track. The basic direction of the tracks will be pegged with plastic standards in the next week or two. Then a date for a working party will be posted on this forum.

The idea is to get these rideable, then later on we can add more obstacles, jumps etc once we know which bits flow and what speeds people are hitting on the various sections.

So keep your eyes peeled here for the next working party.
Until then the things to remember are:

-If you want to help out, that's awesome but wait until an official work party, or contact Eddie or Fin with suggestions.
- All track work must be approved by club representatives. Contacts are Eddie Masters 027 453 8885, Fin O'Conner 027 6117334 and Hamish Seaton 0274426474.
- Club representatives will consult DCC / Arboretum / School about new
works.

Thanks again everyone. I am away from now until September 1st but will get stuck in to help on my return.
