Later this week Thomas Lindup and Megan Dimozantos will depart to front up to the world in one of the most gruelling mountain bike world champs, the 24 hours of Adrenaline World Solo MTB Champs.
This Canadian based event will attracted around 200 top level riders from all over the world.
The event is being held in Canmore up in the Rocky mountains of Canada on the 26th and 27th of July.
In this event contestants will attempt to ride as many times as possible around a set loop though the forest above Canmore in a 24 hour period.
Thomas and Megan have had qualified to gain a place on the start line and both are ranked number one in New Zealand.
Thomas qualified in October last year at the Scott 24 Hour in Canberra, placing a extremely close third, and also qualified with a 2nd at the 24 hours of N-Duro in February held in Rotorua.
Megan qualified in February by taking out the female solo title at the 24 hours of N-Duro and went on to also win the 24 hour solo female Moonride held in Rotorua.
The world champs will start at noon on Saturday the 26th and finish at noon on Sunday the 27th, or 6am Sunday through to 6am Monday New Zealand time.
Both athletes have been training and building up to this event for years, and training hard through a bitter New Zealand winter.
Thomas lives and trains in New Zealand's mountain bike Mecca Rotorua, but is originally from New Plymouth.
Megan lives and trains north of Auckland near Woodhill Forest Park, and is originally from Australia.
Thomas is a member of the Red Stage Waiariki Academy of Sport mountain bike squad and is sponsored by iRule clothing, Bikesmith - Ellsworth, Forte Body Reconditioning, Bike Vegas - Ay Up lights, Nomis gloves and Puresports - Magura - Rohloff.
Megan is sponsored by Woodhill Mountain Bike Park, Panasonic, Bike Addiction Sydney and Acoustic Motorbike.
