Hello.
The peeps over at http://www.wtp.org.nz/ need some more help.
Myself and a couple of others are in the process of planning a new track to submit to HCC for consideration.
Now I'm no master rider but can ride most stuff, the problem is that I have forgoten what it is like to be a complete noob so trying to work out what people struggle with is a bit hard for me.
The track we are working on is aimed at riders that want to step up a bit from easy to intermediate. http://www.vorb.org.nz/images/attach/mtb-grading-print.pdf This is a copy of the grading system if you were a bit unsure. (the track might not be totaly totaly true to this scale, all depends on the landscape, but it wont be fair from it)
At the moment we have the basics and will not be putting two challanges right after another. Ie rougth section into tight corner. But there is some things you might be able to help us with.
Now please refrain from responding if you can comftable ride Leaping lizard, Ridgeline, Gunna Gotta, Bowenvale, other tracks of this ilk unless it is on behalf of some one who can not ride them.
The kind of things we would like to know is.
How much of a drop off to the side of the track is off putting?
If a techinical section was added how bad is bad? Eg rocky section 2, 3, 5? metres long?
Ok so a rock garden style section is going to be more like a cobble path.
How tight of a corner is to tight?
Would an easy non threaterning line be needed around the challange, or one line on the track that makes you comit to ride or walk the challange regardless?
Any other hints or tips to help will be greatly appriceated.
