Update - 9th July 2008
Race 3 of the NDuro Winter MTB Series is on this Sunday in Rotorua. The course map is up on the website: http://n-duro.co.nz/winter/evcmaps.php and it looks great. The first half takes in a lot of single track through the core trail network and then out into the forest to tackle some old favourites.
You can still enter the race online here: http://n-duro.co.nz/winter/register.php
Otherwise registration will be open on Saturday afternoon and early on Sunday morning at Long Mile Drive. Lets hope there will be no snow this weekend!
As some of you will be aware Garth Weinberg and Annika Smail are off to the world singlespeed champs in August in Napa, USA. The Rotorua Singlespeed Society is organising a travel fund for them and NDuro Events is coming on board. For every entry we receive for the singlespeed categories in any of our races (including the Highlander and Whaka 100 ) before they leave we will donate $10. We normally get about 20 entries which is a good start but for all your singlespeed riders out there enter our SS categories and support the NZ champs in their quest to land the world titles.
What’s up with the N-Duro Mountain bike Series?
Classic old school style MTB races over one lap of challenging terrain in the world renowned Whakarewarewa trail network.
Events designed by mountain bikers for ALL mountain bike owners, use these old school classic races to build up for our longer events.
Take the challenge of either the short or long courses, ranging from 20km to 50km in length. There will be great views of the lakes and landscape that makes the Whakarewarewa Forest such a unique destination.
We also recommend you carry basic riding gear: warm clothes, food, plenty of water, tools, tubes, patches and pump. Maybe even a camera.
• The Place:
Each of the N-Duro Series MTB Races start and finish under the canopy of giant redwoods in Whakarewarewa Forest, Rotorua, New Zealand.
The venue is easy to find: take Tarawera Road (the road that goes to the Blue Lake, Buried Village, Lake Tarawera) off Te Ngae Road, SH30. Longmile Road is the second on your right.
There will be great food, COFFEE, water and toilets on site plus a variety of trade stands showing off the latest and greatest MTB gear and with those last minute supplies for the journey ahead.
