NEW ZEALAND MOUNTAIN FILM FESTIVAL 2008

Description
The New Zealand Mountain Film Festival brings a five-day action-packed programme of adventurous sport and lifestyle movies to the alpine resort of Lake Wanaka on July 4-8 2008.

Now in its sixth year, the festival (formerly the Wanaka Mountain Film Festival) attracts work from filmmakers around the world and plays to sellout audiences keen to experience the high adrenalin world of extreme sports from the safety of their seat. Over 100 movies are submitted to the festival with the top 30 making it to the final programme. With subject matter ranging from base jumping to high-altitude mountaineering, mountain biking to eco kayaking, the films provide a fascinating insight into the minds of some of the world’s best, and lesser, known adventurers and the risks they take as they pursue their passion for the more adventurous side of the great outdoors.

The festival also features an eclectic mix of guest speakers who give first-hand experiences of some of the most remote, hostile and challenging places on earth while interactive workshops in photography and writing provide hands on experience. A trade show, photographic exhibition and live music complete an inspiring five days. For further information and tickets, visit www.mountainfilm.net.nz.
