CNZ Awards - Call for Nominations
Nominations for awards to be presented at the 2008 CNZ Annual General meeting (17 May) are now open. Any CNZ member can nominate someone for an award and nominations do not require seconding or acceptance of the nomination. Nominations should be accompanied by documentation/statement in support of the nominee for the award.
Nominatons close at the BikeNZ office 5pm, Monday 5 May. Nominations will be accepted via email: emma[at]bikenz.org.nz, fax (04-4731616) or post (PO Box 1057, Wellington).
CNZ Awards - 2008
The Shona Smith Trophy
Donated in recognition of the late Shona Smith whom held many positions within our sport this Trophy is given in recognition of the Person whom has achieved the most in the previous twelve months in raising the profile of female involvement in our sport.
Volunteer(s) of the Year
The attention towards recognition of the many volunteers associated with any sport was raised six years ago with the UCI calling for official recognition in this category. In following of this CNZ has introduced this category into its annual awards, which recognises actions over the previous twelve months but can take into consideration accumulated service.
Official of the Year
This category is in recognition of the many officiating tasks that are necessary for the efficient running of our sport. Nominations for this award are to cover all levels of the sport from Club to National level and can include paid employees. Nominations are in recognition of the previous twelve months but can take into consideration accumulated service
Coach Of the Year
This category is open to recognition of all levels of coaching within our sport. Nominations are in recognition of the previous twelve months but can take into consideration accumulated service
Fair Play Award
This award is in recognition of any deserving gesture / actions that take place where the nominee has acted in an unselfish and sporting manner. Nominations are in recognition of the previous twelve months
The Malayan Cup
This is considered Cycling New Zealand's “Supreme Award.”
The Malayan Cup was originally awarded to a successful NZ representative Team that included the great Warwick Dalton and has been subsequently presented each year since 1959 in recognition of outstanding service to the Sport. Nominations are in recognition of the previous twelve months but can take into consideration accumulated service. |
