The Bay of Plenty Conservation Management Strategy is undergoing a review. This is an excellent opportunity to increase the quality of mountain bike access in the Bay of Plenty region.

This opportunity only comes around once every 5-10 years so please take some time to add your voice to how this important area of New Zealand should be used and protected.

[CLICK HERE] to find out how you can contribute to the review of this important document.

Mountain Bike New Zealand have sent in their submission recommending enhanced access in Whirinaki Forest Park, shared-use of a proposed "round the lakes" trail and access on the Whakatane River trail from Ruatahuna to Taneatua: [CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD (PDF)]

Shane Jeffcoat from Aerius Helicopters has written up a detailed submission which is he happy for people to use as a base for their submissions: [CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD (Word Document)]

Submissions can be sent to bopcmsreview[at]doc.govt.nz
