Another hot day in the Whakarewarewa Forest, the usual relaxed atmosphere and 25 and 45 kilometre courses that showcased some of the best single track in the trail network - from Tahi to Rosebank via Creek and Be Rude Not To. Even good old Dipper (aka Diamondback) got a work out. Higher altitude trails like Frontal Lobotomy and Billy T featured on the long course.

There were some familiar names on the leader boards, as well. Pro-elite riders and New Zealand XC representatives, Mike Northcott and Sonia Foote were first in 45 kilometer Open Men and Open Women, respectively. And another pro-elite rider, Kaytee Boyd had a flyer to win the 25 kilometre Open Women. Kaytee was also second overall on the short coursbehind up and coming local, Oliver Shaw.
