The Annual Makara Peak Rally was held today at Makara Peak MTB Park, Karori, Wellington. The Makara Peak Rally is an event run by the Makara Peak Supporters as a fundraiser for track development, building, and maintenance at Makara Peak. Today's Makara Peak Rally saw 27 teams of two competing in the Creek to Peak Relay in the morning, and 9 duos and 59 solos entering the Tour de Peak in the afternoon. Temperatures reached a very hot and humid 27 degrees today with very little wind, which made the climbs up the hill rather challenging, and the drinks station at Pylon 16 very popular!

Attached are the provisional results (in .xls format) {Right-Arrow} [CLICK HERE] to download the results. NOTE: RESULTS ARE NOW ADJUSTED FOR STAGGERED START TIMES IN THE TOUR.

A huge thanks to Ben Wilde (President, Makara Peak Supporters) for organising the event, John Randal (Secretary, MPS) for rounding up the sponsors, and all the volunteers and marshalls for helping out on the day! THANKS! {Smile}

Also, a huge thanks to all our sponsors for supporting the event: Active Kiwi, Bike Barn, Burkes Cycles, Cactus Climbing, Crankworks, Cycle Science, Embrace, Ground Effect, J'Ville Cycles, Kennett Bros, Maxxis, Mud Cycles, On Yer Bike, Penny Farthing Cycles, Revolution Cycles, Roadworks, Rocket Bikes, Mountain Bike Skills Clinics, Copy NZ, Bark Limited, Brumbies and Hire Pool. A big thanks to Tama & Vorb for helping us get the word out and our partners at the Wellington City Council for their on going support and support of track development at Makara Peak.
