Vorb Wins At The 2007 People's Choice Netguide Web Awards

After admittedly strange beginnings as a tiny underground mountain biking website Vorb has taken the "Best Sports & Recreation Site" award at the 2007 People's Choice Netguide Web Awards. As an added bonus Vorb also made the finals of "Best High-Speed Internet Site" next to TV3 and TVNZ!

"Updated, uber-frequently and bursting with content including mountain bike event guides, photos and video galleries and well frequented forums"

Winning these awards is a huge honour, and it wouldn't have been possible without the support of you, the loyal and somewhat crazy Vorbii. Vorb has come a hell of a long way from the half dozen static pages I threw together in November 2000 and it has been a privilege for me to meet and ride with so many people through Vorb. It truly is the fantastic community we have that makes this site what it is. Thank You.

The amazing thing Scotty and I took away from the awards evening is that we're pretty sure Vorb was the only independent solo run website to win an award - and was rubbing shoulders with multi million dollar corporate giants. People couldn't believe that there was only one person working out of his spare room behind Vorb (one person referred to their website team of 18 as "small"!)

This shows the New Zealand cycling community is stronger than ever and we will be working hard to making Vorb and even more enjoyable and informative place to visit. But first I believe I have to go riding, lots, probably in Rotorua on the way home...
