Leading events guru, Arthur Klap, has been named as Chairman of BikeNZ, the national umbrella organisation that has achieved a world-first in bringing together all national cycling and biking organisations.
Klap brings with him over 30 years experience in the sport and recreation sector and is respected as one of New Zealand’s leading sporting event promoters.
“Following a successful business start-up phase, BikeNZ has recently launched our new 4-year Strategic Plan and I’m very excited to have the opportunity to lead the organisation into the next stage of our development”, said Klap. “Tremendous opportunities exist for BikeNZ and our Member Organisations to grow cycling participation, from commuter through to elite”.
“BikeNZ will be under real scrutiny as we are only 24 months from the 2008 Beijing Olympics and have been prioritised for support within SPARC’s new 6-year High Performance Strategy. The Board will be working with management to ensure our High Performance Plan and delivery systems are truly world-class, so that we achieve to our potential at Beijing and develop our talent towards London 2012”.

That's FANTASTIC news!
