Those are both good things, but in moderation.
Start the thread.

Insert depth is 9mm too I remember them early giants having quite shallow cup seats. I have a 44mm zs/ec reamer, I'll check to see how deep it will cut tomorrow.

No reason why you can cut a few mm off tho, done it to plenty of road and track frames. Just that insert depth.

Looks like things are angling (Dad pun intended) towards 1° or nothing. When will you be placing the order?

I will be watching this with great interest, I have the same frame and have been thinking of doing the same thing. Very keen to find out how much difference 1deg makes.

I put a 1 degree in a similarly head angled frame. made a noticeable difference for the better.

Finally feel qualified to give you an update pb (now that the trails have dried out post winter).

Nothing but good things to say about the upgrade, have noticed a more secure feeling front end when descending, and no negatives when climbing. Bike definitely feels more planted, will be a combo of the bar/stem swap as well as the angleset - but I’d definitely recommend giving one a whirl.
If your headtube is short enough I’d go for 1.5 degrees too...
