:withstupid: on the 250F's, cost per hour riding they're the highest there is. each year they get more robust, but just the hi revving performance with so many [expensive] moving parts. def a no go for people with budgets.

I would start off on an older XR250 or 200 first before moving onto a larger more exspenive bike. You should test ride as many different bikes as you can so you can get an idea of how the handle. No point buying a bike you cant lift off the ground if it falls over.

Oh yup hmm so not like your still gunna fit an 80 then..... um really don't know I recommend some test rides. I would assume you have never ridden a 250 two stroke and if you do you'll quickly change your mind about wanting one. Hmm a well looked after 125 could worth a look but if you plan on doing more trail rides I would look toward a DRZ, TTR or XR

at 5 ft 11 i strongly recommend an XR250. as long as it hasn't been completely raped, you pretty much can't go wrong.

Seconded.

They'll give you the least maintenance grief, you can learn on it and still have fun when you're more experienced. Even an xr200 may fit the bill as they have a slightly lower seat height. I spent many hours on one in my early teens and had a blast.

At 5'11 seat height won't be a problem. XR250 is a fine machine to learn on and a hell of a lot of fun to throw around.

One of the older air cooled four strokes would be the way to go if your'e on a budget. XR, DRZ, TTR etc...

def test ride the bikes suggested before you buy, XR's etc are awesome bikes and better to learn on than the pure mx bikes, but they won' t jump that well, if you're up for it. Make sure you're able to stand up in an "aggressive attack" much like you would on a DH dike, otherwise you'll end up sitting down to much. My missus has a DR which isn't made to ride standing which blows big time.

That bike would be a hell of a lot better for you than a YZ250
