New Zealand's mountain bike stage race. 5 stages over four days traversing 250km of high country from Mt Somers to Lake Tekapo.

Yeah is a shame about the nationals clash...but for various reasons we are restricted by dates on which we can access some of the land back there.

In other news, just been scoping out the last couple of stages. New country, fast riding and pretty cool.

Total distance has increased to around 295km for the 5 stages...

2.5 weeks out from the alpine epic and my partner has done an endo and ripped his shoulder. I therefore need to find someone who wants to share 4 days of sweat, and I suspect a rather unpleasant tent, for this amazing event.
I am a 42 year old male and normaly do pretty well in XC races in my age group.
If you are interested you can send me a private message - doing this event with a stranger can only add another challenging aspect!

I bet the anticipation is building again in Mt Somers this morning.

Wish I was down there again this year, had such an amazing time last year. Good luck to all those who are racing, looking forward to hearing all the tales again :thumbsup:
