Man what a day. Huge thanks to Steve & Michael and the team for putting on another great event and doing _so_ much trackwork in there to clear some of the overgrown stuff. Again, another 8 hours with only a tiny amout in tracks I've ridden before.
Actually, ridden - i didn;t do a lot of riding. Especially uphill. Its fair to say my pre-race statement was true. I remebered what happens if you do no training, or in fact don't ride a bike of any sort, for a month then try and race for 8 hours. Thank god I had some base from XPD but that was a couple of months back. So i was a total sad-arse out there !. Barryn (who I detest) merely wafted up every hill showing it complete comptempt. I dragged along at the back alternately weeping and then sucking that up to retain moisture.
It was pretty hot though. and the control placement was excellent and the route choice was hard. We weren't even close to the top points but we had a good time and maybe i'll even do some training, maybe, at some point by actually riding a bike !
Hope the guy who got the big bone in his front wheel on the DH on the way back to the finish is OK !
Well done to the winners, losers and everyone inbetween.

Fell off in under 1km so we had to resort to shoving our maps into our lycra. By the end the maps where in pieces and almost unreadable.
