OTOH you can buy his lights from things called shops, and if it stuffs out you can take it back. There are merits in both these things, and its not wrong to make a profit in doing so.

 Nice detective work znomit. Doesn't look like nightlights has learnt from their commerce commission telling off. I'd love to see some proof of their claim of 900 lumens too. They certainly don't look that bright.

As I said before you get what you pay for.

after looking at to long term vorbers play with a set of ayup (sp?) and a set of DX lights one night i know where my money would go and it would be with the cheap and nasty ones,
write by said person on another site
"Oh yeah, mine arrived in Feb and I got to compare them to Scotty's twin beam aussie ones (dammit, can't remember their name).
The DX was a less focused and more speckled beam, but overall brightness was comparable."

So what. Doesn't mean he can make misleading or simply false claims, or attempt to break the law. It's that sort of behaviour that should not be supported by lbs's.

True.

Note to commerce commission: having dealt with the major threat of price-fixed bike lights on trademe, could you maybe find time (inbetween sipping lattes of course) to investigate why fuel prices in NZ are...'synchronised' :p

I may be able to arrange access to the piece of test gear needed to measure lumens. Anyone with the nitelights be interested in loaning me one for measurement purposes? Deal extreme ones will be easy enough to sort out.

Plonker. Fuels prices are monitored by heaps of organisations, including AA, Consumer NZ and specific reviews by Parliamentary Committees. A few people in MED make weekly assessments of cost drivers:

I have a set. Thought you could compare them to my AyUps and Cygolite Trident-X systems.

Updated version now out... MJ816
Quoted lumens ... 1400lm
Hasn't appeared on DX yet
Mickey Mouse looking thing. P7 with two cree XPEs on each side. Remote switch and sensible modes.
180NZ$ which is what the DX light is selling for on TM and a bit cheaper than others are selling lights that look just like the MJ808 but apparently aren't.
Shipping is a killer though.
