Re: Advice Re Back Injury - Physio? Osteopath? - Wellington

Before an Osteo, I'd see Glen at CSM. In my opinion (after seeing all sorts of experts over 10 years of treatment for multiple fractures vertebrae / shoulder/ etc etc etc) the best, most competent exponents in either field (Physio or Osteo) should both have a wide range of skills from outside their traditional trade. Good physio's will be qualified and able to use components of ostep / massage / chiro.

Glen's such a guy - and largely identified and fixed (in 2 weeks) many of the root causes of the debilitating symptoms that had stopped me riding for 2 years.

Another vote for Glenn Muirhead at Capital Sports Med - I know so many people he's helped it's ridiculous.

I have an appointment to see Mr Granite Hands Muirhead tomorrow avo.

If you stand outside their place in the Old Public Trust building tomorrow around 3pm you will see me back flipping out of the door whooping like a Mary Poppins extra.

I always thought they must rate their service highly, given the heinous steps in and out of that place!

I usually see Helen McKendry at Capital Sports Med on Featherston st (closer to Old Bank Arcade tho). She's excellent, and a mtber.
Most of the CSM seem to be good.

But I suspect this week or next would be more a question of who is around....

Totes - I went to see Heather at Habit. She was good enough :) using a MTBer might be a goer for next time though. Thanks Jo!

Habit is very local for you, so thats win.

I find, as a physio gets to know whats going on for you the progress with the injury speeds up (well, with good physios anyway...). And that good physios are worth paying for.
