Taranaki Trail Conditions

Colson Roadposted 12 days ago by graeme_mtb
More work out there to cut back grass, pick up rubbish and cut up logs by Thomas has made this more rideable and eaier to see where the tracks are. Mapping of the various tracks by Carl has begun too.

Drying out and great riding. The existing tracks out the back have had a clearing out of recent growth and there is other work going on for the downhills.

If you overlook all the plastic blown in from the adjacent landfill, there is quite a lot of pleasurable exploring you still can do at Colson Road.

The trails today were dry as a bone. Some keen folk have been in there clearing XC trials and there are some jumps and short downhill bits getting developed in there too.

And you can ride there on your bike from New Plymouth.

Nice and grippy, usual boggy bits along lowlands. New area at the northern end, dry and dusty.

Holding up surprisingly well considering that it has been neglected for so long. Team of 15 of us went through there today and had good fun.

Pretty good and fast with the odd mud hole. Good riding today!
