As previous forum posts have indicated, the track as far as Foster's Clearing is fine. The downhill from there is also in pretty good shape and a lot of fun.

The worst track damage is on the climb to the top of the main descent. A couple of big windfalls will need some chainsaw work. Someone has marked out a route over the worst of the falls (just follow the pink tape).

From the top of the main descent it is mostly pretty good. There is a bit of damage near the top, and in one or two places you need to cast your eye about for the track, as it is not always obvious. But in most cases simply following the best looking line will serve you well. You get past the wind damage quickly though and from there it is still the grin-enducing track it has always been (watch out for some pig rooting on one or two corners). As always, best ridden when dry.

Rode this again Saturday 8th November...conditions the same

Trail out of bay is fine...fire road to trail proper is a wee bit greasy(esp if your shuttling,4WD only)...trail up to top ridgeline is pretty damp and greasy(unrideable if you can)..the descent from top down the Southern side is fine, but tree roots are slippy,so take care.
Pylon trail is open again..v loose, steep and fun..but braking is hit and miss.

Rode this last weekend, 26/10/08.
Given the amount of rain, the trail was in pretty good nick. Last third of the climb to the top the trail was very wet. Melting snow was pouring down the middle of the track.
Fortunately most of the trail up there is shaley so water is not a big issue.
Snow just on the southern side of the clearing about 6 inches deep.Should be all gone now as it has been v warm this week.

The descent, as always (wet or dry) was mint..supersonic fun.
