Who tested them to IP57? Last I looked no one with the same lights made such a claim. Did you get them tested yourself over here?

Google it
ip57 ingress protection rating allows submersal at 1m water depth for i believe 30 minutes and unit should operate correctly ...

the 5 means its been turned on, stuck in a dust chamber, dust turned on for a minute then turned off and left for 3 hours (dust still going) opened up and there cant be much dust inside (realistically if any gets in lots gets in, not many luminaires are ever 5 rated for dust...)

the 7 means its been turned on till it warms* up then stuck in 1m of water for 30 mins - no water allowed in it at all

* I cant remember off the top of my head if the 7 for a luminaire (a light) is powered first or not, either way it will make negligible difference with an led

that assumes it has been tested properly to the standard and not just made up

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IP_Code for more info

note that certain products are tested differently than what is listed there slightly (lights for one)

Sorry guys I made a bit of a typo.

The lights are IP65 rated by the manufacturer. Along with these lights I sell 1400 lumen HId torches, 900 Lumen Cree MCE torches and 900 Lumen 100m rated Divers Lights.

These are not cheap lights, I have been supplying them to the bike shops for the staff to test and the feedback has been superb.

So good in fact that every shop that has had a trial has ordered.

I hold the 12 month Warranty, spare parts, spare batteries, leads etc in Auckland.

Shops stocking the lights at the moment are

Auckland.

Cycle Express, Planet Cycles, Avanti Plus in Waitakere, Manukau, Rotorua, and Nelson, RNR soon, Chain Reaction in CHCH, Bike HQ in Nelson, and The Cyclery in Timaru.

More stores will have stock soon so support these good bike shops.

IP65 means 0 dust after the test talked about above and the 5 is roughly equivalent of spraying it with a garden hose on full bore from 3m (with one of those nozzles wound into stream mode) for 10 mins with the light on, then 10 mins with it off and zero water allowed inside afterwards. I would that that's pretty sufficient for a nightlight :D

Yes and I have given the units a lot more water than that.

I apologize to those after typing IP57. Unacceptable on my part
