Forget the wall guys. The internet has come up with a better solution:

I'm not sure exactly when it became a bad thing for a country to protect it's borders. But November 8th seems to have been the turning point.

Depends what you're protecting them from, if it's Islamic Terrorists and Illegal Immigrants fair enough.

But when you shut your borders to refugees fleeing persecution then about mid 1938, because that's when US policy makers started turning back European Jewish refugees.....

And the wall won't work anyway, half of illegal immigrants are over stayers, so they're going to have to stop more people coming in too!

You do realise that Obama wrote these laws a few years ago right? Then dismantled/bombed all the systems and infrastructure required for properly vetting refugees on the other end.

The current ban is temporary (4 months) while new systems are setup. It's not permanent and it's nothing like the media is trying to portray.
There is also noise of the US negotiating with Saudi Arabia to take these refugees.

It's being made out like the US is the only country on the whole planet these people can travel to.........

So he's planning to send religious refugees to a country that openly and systematically discriminates against all religions outside of Sunni Islam?

I'm not so sure it's to set things up, as I recall the Muslim travel ban promised during the election to be until our officials figure out what's going on? Doesn't seem likes there's going to be a rush to install new systems.

Obama had to freeze immigration from Iraq in 2011 (or 13??) because some guys were subsequently found to have been involved in IEDs. That was an actual threat, one country and it took them 6 months to re-vet every visa holder. This is open ended 7 countries and based on a generalised threat of Islamic Terrorists in the US who actually when you do some research come from countries other than those 7 most notably the US itself.

I think there's more understanding of who's holding the marionette strings in the presidency now.

Steve Bannon is very influential in the Trump administration (was campaign CEO now chief strategist or SSLT and coincidentally sits on the board of Cambridge Analytica) and a lot of his pre Trump far or 'alt-right' rhetoric is now playing out in the policies being created. He knows they're poor policy and shitly written but they more about shock and awe and impact on the current political structure than changing America, he wants to carryout a coup. They're going to force a stand off between the three branches of government and effectively force a power transfer from Legislate to the Executive. It gets more interesting what happens today and if the SCOTUS accept Trump's (probable) appeal against the ruling on the travel ban. What will they say to him if they uphold the stay or overturn the executive order outright.

No reference to tanks or missiles in there. Just "military vehicles" for a parade.

Sounds like Huff Post are doing what they usually do.

I'm checking emails in between jet lag.
