Personally? yes.
As a family? yes.
Our best example is my wife who spent 11 years working in Peru with very poor people (primary health care and youth work in shanty towns and inner city poor).

Hey bro, any chance I can borrow some smug?

Even if U2 gave away all of their wealth it couldn't compensate for the atrocity that is their music :(

I don't care about humanitarian aid.
I'm just in it for the music :)

“Is this true? Do doped-up maniacs really go a-maiming in order to increase their country’s appeal in the eyes of international aid donors? Does the modern humanitarian-aid industry help create the kind of misery it is supposed to redress? That is the central contention of Polman’s new book”

Even this article contends it’s an unlikely thesis.

What’s the other option – do nothing?! :hmmm:

You could do, what initially started as an emergency support has turned into an industry, one which has no responsibilities or control.
A bit like giving money to someone begging on the street.

You could always buy goods from poorer countries, trade has done far more for the welfare of people than any aid handouts.
