I'm arguing the rule could be enforced with better information to keep the spirit of the racing intact. The intent of the rule is surely to ensure a rider coming off their line does not disadvantage someone else.

Can UCI objectively determine interrupt with current technology? Yes forward speed is reduced by swerving, but if the speed reduced is miniscule or relative between both riders then maybe some slack should be cut for the sake of the spectacle?

Two of the biggest showdowns by the best in the business got vetoed by commissaires appying UCI rules. As a viewer that sucked. Can't even imagine how the riders and supporters feel about it.
I dunno, come out to the track with me when I'm back in town and if you can stick on my wheel I'll replicate that move and see how much speed you lose :satan:

errr thats if I can remember how to ride a track bike

Just finished watching the Madison final. What a great race! And now I get the Paris-Roubaix for dessert. :)

Man I love Internet streaming. It's so much better than Sky!

I haven't seen the race, but if it's the Keirin, the Sprinter's Lane does not apply. Sprinter's Lane rules are for Match Sprints.

Incorrect. It's not the same rule, but pretty similarly applied in that riders cannot come down on others unless ahead, or up unless clear or reacting to other incidents.

Why did VVH open up the box and let Hoy come through for the win?

SVVH got relegated for boxing Sir Hoy in - didn't seem to matter that later he politely shifted over to allow Sir the win ??!?! WTF?

From the news coverage, seems SVVH isn't so keen on track officiating either.

He got relegated for coming in on Kenny's line - not Hoy's. VVH also already had a yellow card / warning from heats, so they were never going to let it slide (though they should have, I reckon).
