I heard today, the TT is at Waipawa, starts at Coronation Park, heading out Tikokino Road (that's where the hill is) turns off somewhere for the 40km.

safe to assume that the road circuit will likely be out Waipawa way as well?

Newsletter #1

Club Road National Championships
3-6 May 2012, Hawke's Bay

Welcome to the first update about the RaboDirect Club Road National Championships and Oceania Road Championships.

This is one of the biggest competitive cycling events in the country, with the finest racing across all grades - its your chance to become a national champion, no matter how old (or young!) you are!

Entries will open on 24th February.

Unlike previous years, you need to enter yourself via the online system, not through your centre. If you are part of a NZ domestic trade team please contact your team for entry.

To enter, login with the same username and password that you use to apply for licences.

Please note that you MUST have (at least) a 2012 National Licence before you enter the event. If you do not then your entry will not be accepted and you will not be able to enter again.

A second venue for the Road Races (RR) near Crownthorpe, east of Hasings. The courses for the RR will be the same to those used in 2010 when Ramblers CC hosted the Club National Championships

Oh well ... wold have been nice for something a bit different ... but atleast its a known entity :)

Good to have a race around it again
We are planning two ‘build up’ events on a single weekend so that riders can gain experience on these courses:
- RR on Saturday 10 March 2012
- ITT on Sunday 11 March 2012

One would have to be doing the TT on Sunday . . . . eh thekiwi!

74 m elevation gain over 1.9 km (153 m to 227 m) on the way out 3.5km mark to 5.4 km mark. 2 km climb on the way back in (163 m to 227 m)

As the course is in Waipawa on the Tikokino Rd, I am sure thekiwi will drive down and scope it for you after the RR on Saturday.

I hear it is blardy steep! hahahaha, best get practicing hill climbing on your TT bike Joel. :sly:
