No I can tell you at this early stage your priorities are already wrong. The most work, time and effort should be put into the costume!

yep I also have me costume organised , now just need a bike

a few small hints from a long time roadi that took up mtb and was crap for ages - hope you don't mind

- look at where you are going , not down, that includes around corners- its amazing what a mtb will roll over if left alone
this equals think less

- take the bike to a park and practise riding no hands - using your hips to turn is how you need to turn

-lastly keep off the seat going down hill, flex those knees and keep arms loose
