2010 Mtb Cup #5 Hamilton

Postby Mel on Mon 21/Dec/09 3:26pm

Can anyone share with me the course description and details for Round 5 of the MTB Cup in Hamilton? I understand that the Wednesday night races use the intended course, but I haven't been able to make it to any of those races yet (and am unlikely to).

It's probably easier to describe the bits that get missed out, rather than what's in it! :D What is the course length for 1 lap? And where will the start loop and feed zone be?

Thanks. :)

Found! Just a bit slower than all of you (same as on the bike!). :D

Okay, so it starts in the park, not the paddock. The maps lacks a bit of detail though, just precisely exactly where the track goes in certain places. I need some local knowledge. (Oh wait...)

Okay, I've read it and studied the map. Where do you go from the top of Knoll Ridge? Take the first RH down, then loop around and back up onto the Knoll to the steps?

And do you do ALL of the turns through the Pin Oaks? (The line doesn't look squiggly enough).

Pretty much like that Mel.

For small bribes I am available to show people around the track :sly:

Thanks RussS, I think I've got it pretty much sorted now. I was confused with the Pin Oaks part because previously there had been a lot of leaf litter on the track and it didn't look like it was getting ridden much.

Now... who's racing? :sly:

Pain Train are....well most of us and also doubling up with helping run it as well.

If you are racing age groups in the morning, think about offering some help with marshalling etc for the U19 and Elite races in the arvo - marshall points will be in very spectator friendly in places, so you get to see the hurt go on close up! Go to the club website for the contact if you want to volunteer etc. Also check out the dates for working bee's before the race.

I'd ask for Elites to volunteer to marshall the the age group racing, but I'm realistic....6 laps of the course is hard enough let alone adding that task in there!

Get training - going to be a great summer of racing!

The Bushlove vrs Il Treno Dolore going to epic too...a bit like Alien vrs Predator

Merry Xmas all from the PTR team
