I'm gonna rule the cycling world by killing everyone who's faster than me. :) May take more than a year to achieve though.

I am a Taupo nut as sadly I only have time for one event per year. So my goal for 2010 is to knock another hour off my time. My times have been (from first to most recent – and official) 6:40 and 5:30. SO I want to pull at least 4:30. Obviously condition dependant though….I will be starting the training in winter, not being a pussy and cycling to work when I can and as fast as I can, and clocking up the longer rides earlier in the training period. I want to be doing regular weekend 120km + rides at least 2 months before Taupo and at least a 160km ride before Taupo.

This is all assuming I don't decide to take a break from a third consecutive Taupo.... :p

Just hardening up basically. Riding in the wind and the cold. Not sitting at home at weekends drinking dark beer telling myself it's too shitty to go riding.

Riding with mates. Not being a softcock and convincing myself my legs are a bit sore, they'll feel better after 10 mins with some blood flowing through them.

Not drinking during the week. Two or three beers or a bottle of wine of a night pile on the pies.
