and there does look to be room to run a dropper post (dropper posts FTW!)

the vapour 3 is a hot lookin bike, really wanna get a ride on one. the whole dropping the seat thing is a bit moot really too as it's a long travel xc bike (all mountain)

Really so you are suggesting that people who drop their seat more than 2" need to learn how to ride. That's a really sad attitude dude, I hope you don't work in a shop (or have sponsorship from a shop) as that's a pretty uncool attitude to have towards most bike riders

so you were wining DH races with that set up?

Comedy gold :D
I'm going to go put my seat down, cause I don't know how to ride

This is a wild guess, but his general shiteating fanboism suggest he sells or is in some way commercially associated with Avanti. :D

allright, you have hyperboled my hyperboley statement. Im sorry if i offended anyone.
Was never saying a rider sucks if they need their seat right down for DH sections. i know a several riders that dominate with it right down.

but with the spirit with what i was saying was simply this: "you dont really need to drop it all the way, but if you do there are several things you can do". I used to ride with my post all the way down, and when i started riding with it a bit higher i actually found i had more control over the bike, and as a result went faster. I and severalother people i know have found this, i would disagree with the statement lower is better. but then again each to heir own. people are allowed a preference.
For a bike like the torrent you shouldnt really need to drop it more than 3 or 4 inches which you will easily be able to get out of it. In saying this if the orginal seatpost is too long for someone you can cut it down to suit your needs. or better yet get an adjustable seatpost.

And im not talking just Avanti but alot of brands, i really dont see it as a flaw to have an interupted seat tube as there are several options/modificatons you can do, so that you can get your desired seatpost movement. i.e. trimming the post down, or using a adjustable post.

my apologies for my seemingly harsh statement earlier. it definately came across alot worse than what was intended

Cheers for that

I've got no issues with the bikes, they look great, there appears to be enough room to get a dropper in, or drop the seat a bit as you point out. I'm sure I'm going to see a few out on the trails over summer

good work with clarifying what you said, I'm glad you had a look at it (I know how easy it is to think something, but to end up posting something that can be interpreted quite differently from what you intended)
