I'm looking forward to it.

There's a $40 Bob tax.

Ok..., still confused here, the "party animal" doesn't include the race day entry? or am I missing something?

I was starting to think it was going to be a great event, and maybe even head up, until I read about the UCI involvement. Now I guess its just going to be another roadie scam aimed at fundraising for track cyclists. First they steal XC and DH racing, then BMX and trials, now 1 speed... Hopefully retro DH and light ball bike soccer will manage to maintain their freedom. With UCI involvement I expect we will have breath testing during the race, and the wrong type of drug testing after it... By next year the course will be 100% doubletrack, to allow easy passing, and probably it will be held entirely in a paddock, so they can get easy TV coverage.

OK, Mr Bob - especially for you:

Party Animal: you do everything apart from the actual race. Pitched towards partners of riders or those people who just want to soak up the atmosphere and drink. Amazing how many we got doing that last year.

Teetotaller: for those who just want to race an do nothing else.

Weekender: everything including the race. And at $95 which includes beer, food, race and other entertainment that is great value.

But. most importantly, get your costume sorted. The major spot prize this year is for best costume - and based on the South Island event last weekend there is a very high standard to live up to.

Watch out for the UCI officials during the event. They will be wearing the white lab coats...

Okay, to continue the theme of silly questions... do Teetotallers get entry to the after party? :eh:

Mel, when it comes to parties there are no silly questions! Venue is at the Pig and entry is free. However, you just dont get any of the fantastic beer vouchers. Which, assuming you are a chardonnay drinker, wont be a problem for you.

Hey, how about a discussion as to whether Cabin's beige skin suit will be topped this year in the costume stakes? Anyone going to race in a Darth Vader costume?
