I really want to go, but Nov 29 is my daughters birthday, and she may get pissy if I'm at the top of the island without her. She rides on the flat slower than I ride up hills, so she ain't coming! I'll see if I can convince everyone that it's a good idea for me to go. Hmmm... maybe take the tandem and blame it on Logan

Unfortunately out for November - got an annual Rotovegas trip and would be risking matrimonial disharmony having two trips away in the same month.

Did QC over two days last weekend with a group. Weather was mint and track was in beautiful condition - although has become somewhat of a highway with improvements between Ferneaux Lodge and Keneperu saddle.

For those who posted looking for price and time guides -

Arrow water taxis are about $20 cheaper than Cougar Line - they do bike and bag transfers for $70 per head. Not sure whether they have boat capacity for 49 riders though.
Lodge beds at Portage are $50

Ships Cove to Ferneaux Lodge took us about 1 1/4 hours at a moderate pace, including a couple of stops to take in the views. Stayed at Fernueax for a while and had a gentlemens lunch. Ferneaux - Portage took us under 4 hours including about stops at Kenepuru Saddle and the DOC shelter.

Rode Portage - Anakiwa then back on road to Picton. Left Portage at 9.30 and were in Picton about 1.30, including lunch stop at Anakiwa and ice creams at the Grove Arm camp ground - so about 4 hours.
